Re: Mega Bloks Dragon sets at Zainy Brainy soon

(...) Cool! Thanks for the heads-up. (...) Yeah, that sounds about right for Zainy Brainy. (...) I was wondering, if the new 'Dragons' knights have the peg on their body (like the old Mega Bloks spacemen, so we could interchange Lego heads) or if (...)   Mega Bloks Dragon sets at Zainy Brainy soon

I just received a Zainy Brainy sale flyer in the mail and they are listing three of the new Mega Bloks Dragon sets. The sale starts 7/25 and ends 8/31. The sets listed: A. Warrior's Fortress - Reg. $49.99 - Sale price:$39.99. B. Battle Gate - Reg. (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jul-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Mega Bloks finally updated their website (cool new stuff!)

There's 9 gray 2x4 bricks in the chest and some rock pieces and a turret plus the warriors. All chests have the same parts I think, maybe different warriors (there are gold and silver chests). For $5 it is cool. If you just want to try the new (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jul-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) You're both correct about the trans-yellow canopy. It's two pieces; the rear part actually connects to the surrounding bricks and provides the pivot on which the front part of the canopy hinges up. Very cool. It's reminiscent of the canopy (...) (...) the left... But yeah, some great stuff is coming from MB: the "Dragons" sets look priced to move and to catch the LOTR craze, there seems to be some kind of answer to bionickles called "Gyro Fighters" based on a ball-joint mechanism for limb (...)   Mega Bloks finally updated their website (cool new stuff!)

Here is a link: (URL) on the "What's New" link. Then click on page 4 through 8. (the first 3 are preschool stuff) Aside from the cool new Dragons stuff, of noteworthy interest are: "Jackel and Scorpion" which is an Eygptian version of the "Kight and (...)   Re: Building experience with a non-AFOL

(...) I'm teaching remedial math in summer school to a tough crowd of kids who either got expelled or failed or dropped out during the year. I brought in Mega-Bloks culled out of used LEGO finds to substitute for algebra tiles (they give us (...)   Re: Airfix Betta Bilda vs. Lego comparisons on Brickshelf

(...) Clark, This is without doubt a very interesting historic information. Would you happen to know if these sets were *originally* modelled thinking of use with the 1:87 scale trains (specifically)? That would give a logical explanation for LEGO (...)   Airfix Betta Bilda vs. Lego comparisons on Brickshelf

Airfix is a British company known for making plastic scale models. Back in the 1960's, they also released a building toy called Betta Bilda. It was advertised as a companion to their line of HO & OO railway models. There are several similarities (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jul-02, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
