This is without doubt a very interesting historic information.
Would you happen to know if these sets were *originally* modelled thinking
of use with the 1:87 scale trains (specifically)? That would give a logical
explanation for LEGO part sizes as well (being roughly the same).
Also, do you have any info if the sets were at any point sold outside the
UK? Just curious...
