Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) Yeeeek! Best Lock will suck at best. Those Best Lock sets look great but are not very good in the brick quality dept. -- Hop-Frog (23 years ago, 27-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

Fellowship of the Ring blocks are clearanced at Target today. I found them at TRU in the Action Figure area, $20 for the small sets. Target had them next to the clone brands across from Lego. $10.40 for the small sets (reg $15.) (Battle at (...) (23 years ago, 26-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Zero-G minifigs

Hey, everyone! Levitating nuts & bolts is fine, but I would rather be levitating minifigures: (URL) I did it: There is a building system called "MAGZ", which utilizes magnets and steel balls to build geometric shapes. I took the magnets (they are (...) (23 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.build, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands) !

  Re: Fortress TRU

Oops, my bad. I meant Woodbridge (the one next to Pearl). I know before they had them with the other LEGO, but they've now completely moved them into the (normally abandoned) HP section. (...) There's a TRU in Edison? The Wal-Mart in Piscataway has them with the regular merch. Same with the rest of the TRUs I've seen, save that one next to Pearl up by the 1/9 interchange. I managed to get some Gringott's! :) But they most (...) (23 years ago, 17-Dec-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) I have seen the HP LEGO both with the HP stuff and with the LEGO stuff. Then there was Walmart when it first came out, in it's own aisle stand. In my shopping over the past few days I've seen very little HP LEGO. Frank (23 years ago, 17-Dec-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Fortress TRU

Today I understand why Fortress TRU has a security battallion: Holiday shopper crowds in Times Square. Fortress TRU is the new flagship store in New York. Today I hoped to glimpse a Cloud Car, but only some other small 2002 Sw sets (and Alpha Team) (...) (23 years ago, 17-Dec-01, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Dave! Thanks for the excellent review--I've been seeking these things out. The packaging and layout look really very good, better than MB has put out to date--though I wonder if they still have that odd feel to them. It is, however, the guaranteed (...)   Review of the U-240

Drop what you're doing and go buy this $20 set. It includes 412 pieces (a shade less than a nickel per piece) mostly in dark grey and black, with a number of silver-grey and trans-orange, too. Also included is a pilot, two new gatling-style machine (...) (23 years ago, 6-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) I just picked up the U240 set because it has the cool newish 10 x 2 x 8 windshield in trans-orange, as well as a bunch of other trans-orange elements. It also has a better piece count of 412 versus 300-something for the J-227. The cones are (...) (23 years ago, 5-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
