My apologies to all those cows, but they perish for the greater good of selling
my book to the masses.

Or snowball, or some equally good metaphor.

Let's stick with the locomotives and cows, by all means.

But I do wonder how many of them catch the duality of
the lessons.  :)  I'm glad to see it getting so much
airtime...uh, column inches...or whatever; you've
created a MONSTER!

ROOOOOOAAAR!

If I see any mention of it in Detroit, I'll clip it for
you.

Thanks, I appreciate that.

In totally related questions, how's the book doing?

It seems to be doing quite well.  I don't have any real figures to back up that
statement yet, just anecdotal evidence and bits and pieces of random sales info
to draw conclusions from.  It seems to be sold out at several online retailers.
I know PowellsBooks.com had 400 copies when the book was released, and now has
none, and Walmart.com had as many as 790 in late October and is now out of
stock.  So either there have been some stock room fires to account for this, or
people are actually ordering it.

I know a second printing of the book has been ordered, but those books won't
arrive to replenish stores until after Christmas.

That's about all I can tell you at this point.

Oh wait, there's one other thing...

ROOOOOOAAAR!

(...) WalMart ?? They won't carry Maxim in their stores, but your work is OK by them? Wahahaha. (sorry, the irony (which probably is completely lost on everyone in Bentonville AR) got to me!) (21 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.mediawatch)
