ebay just made snipping easier... —Scott Arthur
You no longer have to place a sentry bid, or use a 3rd party programme. Members con now "watch" an auction: (URL) is item watching? "Sometimes you find an item that you're not quite ready to bid on yet, but you want to keep track of it so that you (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

I *was* about to ask what "sipping" is, but now I assume that by changing it to "snipping" that you meant "sniping". (...) I'm having trouble understanding that last sentence. Could you explain how auctions are "pulled"? And why buyers would want a (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

It's bad for eBay--if people are waiting until the last second, it doesn't allow for that tumultuous buildup of (...) (25 years ago, 10-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: ebay just made snipping easier... —Steve Bliss
(...) I don't think being able to use the server to put a watch on item is going to have a negative effect. If anything, it will serve to increase final selling prices. Anyone who is serious about sniping already has a system to keep track of (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: ebay just made snipping easier... —Troy Cefaratti
I guess that I just don't see this becoming as much of a problem as you guys seem to think it will be. As a mater of fact, i think it's kinda neat. I know I will be using it to watch some auctions, ones that I probably would NOT have bid on anyways, (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.theory)
