Is there any theory on when an auction should end. In terms of hour of day and/or day of week? I've placed counters on some of my ebay pages to monitor the hit rate distribution. I think if you root around in this very group you'll find a post or two from Todd on the topic of bid frequency which I think seems to suggest that the most bidding traffic happens on Tuesdays based on his analysis of some of the auctions he ran. Before they blocked eBay at work, I would monitor auctions at their end when I was the high bidder to defend against snipers. If I had been an active bidder in an auction, I would bid close to the end, up to my $$ limit, and if I got it, great. But (...) (25 years ago, 26-Aug-99, to lugnet.market.theory)

Were I to predict my schedule for the next month, I would say some split between MA, NY and MN is pretty probable with little or no CA and not a lot of MI other than on weekends.
