| | Toys R Us Sales
|
| Toys R us has a couple of good deals: 6740 XTreme Tower $19.99 (reg $50) 1371 Spinosaurus Attack $5.29 (reg $35) (a goofy set with some great parts) 4733 Dueling Club $9.99 (reg $20) They have much more on sale, but these stood out in my mind. | (...) Confirm that the inventory on peeron matches one tub that I just checked. A few notes... 1) The parts listed on the tub's side label are in seperate bags from the "Extra Value!" pcs. 2) Three of the parts are listed on the side label and have (...) | (...) The recent Target toys seasonal ad book contains the 4512 Cargo Train but lists it as an "online exclusive" or somesuch. I take that to mean it won't be in Target stores, which will remove the single most consistent source of cheap (...) (21 years ago, 5-Nov-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

| | Re: My Pick-A-Brick Experience
|
| (...) The way they have it set up at LLCA the customers are able to put it on the scale themself and the weight and price shows up. I see MANY parents saying "thats too much, go put it back" to the kids who have a bag full of mixed up parts. I would (...) (21 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

| (...) I posted late last week with my method of packing 137 2x4s with breathing room for lots of small parts. Based on reading the packing methods of others, I think you can actually fit 4 2x4s into the raised stud on the lid instead of the three (...) | | Re: Improved Pick-A-Brick packing

| (...) I guess in an ideal world I want to buy small parts by volume and large ones by weight, then. :-) (ideal for us I mean) But if you only get 100 2x4s for 13 USD, that's 13 cents a brick. That's way over my threshold for 2x4s, a common part, (...) (21 years ago, 18-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)

| (...) So if my math is correct (and it frequently isn't) it is still less expensive to simply scoop 100 loose 2x4's into a cup for $12.95 than it is to pay by weight for the same 100 2x4's. And the same volume presumably only gets heavier when (...) (21 years ago, 18-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping)
