On the subject of K-Mart, this just caught my attention ...
"If Bankruptcy Court Judge Susan Pierson Sonderby approves Kmart's store-closing
plans on March 20 in Chicago, liquidation sales of more than $1 billion in
inventory will begin this spring and could be wrapped up by summer."[1]

| (...) Not meaning to jump the gun here, but... In the summer/fall of 1999 K-Mart had the most recent 'mass closing' of stores. My recollection is that is was in the range of 60-70 stores that were closed. That year, they designated several of the (...) (23 years ago, 8-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)
