I had a similar experience on another item about three weeks ago. I ordered
several copies of a set on special, but when the order came they were
cancelled due to being out of stock. Now I admit that when I ordered
them the rep told me that I was getting the very last of them -- in fact,
I'd asked for 10, I think, and was told that the computer was showing only
5. Evidently, those got "committed" elsewhere while they were doing up
my order. It happens, with the end of the stock. In fact, one time last
year I was placing an order and the final copy "disappeared" from the
order system WHILE the service rep was taking down my credit card and
address info -- i.e., one of the other reps completed an order while
mine was being input.
The annoying part about the most recent incident was that the cancellation
left my remaining order about $1.25 OVER the threshold to the next higher
shipping cost. Had I known, I'd have dropped off one $2.00 item so that
I didn't end up effectively paying an additional $2.00 to ship it.

| Did anyone else place an order for the 5289's and 5117's last week thinking everything was fine only to find it wasn't when you received your order? Normally I don't have any problems with placing and receiving a S@H order, but this time things were (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
