I know this sounds silly but... We got ours on Wednesday and I think I
like it better than RIS (which we've had for about a year now.) Yes, the
RIS (RCX) is better, but we love to just throw together something and try it
out. No programming etc. I know we could do this with the RCX but never
do. Even with 5 program slots there is no way to "pre-program" the RCX for
everything. The Scout gives a very nice array of function combinations.
Also, we have already taken the RDS "on the road" this weekend. Never could
do that with the RIS. We don't have a laptop.... yet.

What *would* be silly is to argue that the RDS or the RIS is *inherently* better or worse than the other: each one has its strengths and weaknesses, and the individual (...)
