    Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003 —Bryan Kinkel
I bet it has to do with the number of doors and windows packed in each set. 3734 has 5 left doors and 5 right doors. This is enough doors for 2 Metroliner style cars. However you need 10 windows for each car. So to create your two cars, 2 packs of (...) (22 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) NOOO...OOO! What about people who want the windows and have no intention of making a train, therefore no need for (or even want) the doors. (...) -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) That's what BrickLink is for. If LEGO got the general proportion (average, across everyone) right, BL can smooth out lumps of freaky desire. (22 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) of (...) OK, but if TLC is already doing right as far as the windows go, why screw with it? Why not just produce less of the door pack? -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) There's an SKU shortage. Combine the doors and windows (in the right proportion) and an SKU is freed up for something else. That's goodness, in my view, as one does where formerly 2 were used. However I blow hot and cold on this, there are (...) (22 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) Well, I just placed an order all the way from Africa for a mess of the door packs. Oodles! I'll find a use for them, maybe a nice *blue* cruiser... But I got the most annoying customer service person I've ever encountered--she sounded like the (...) (22 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) Larry - for some reason this phrase struck me as particularly funny. I would describe "Freaky desire" as the sensation that occurs as you go on a late night BrickLink hoarding spree, buying out the only 30 copies of some obscure part from 9 (...)    (...) Oh ya, been there, done that. :-) What's always good is the notes you get from befuddled sellers, wondering what you are up to and some hoping to dump other dross on you. I'm wondering when it's going to happen to me for THIS part: (URL) part (...) (22 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) I dunno, someone posted a rendering in .trains a few days or so back that used that part as the exit chute on a hopper car (it used 3). Looked pretty good to me, so I might have to use a dozen or so up that way. -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual (...) (22 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) Ya I was thinking about that very car after I posted. I may have to give it a go. (...) A dozen? Well that might be a good start for YOU but it would be merely rounding error for me, regrettably. (22 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) Really? I might be interested in a few of those. They're good for Space stuff -- I seem to remember Tim C. used them on the underside of a large-ish spacecraft he built. Put a few of them in a line, run bricks through the slots, it makes a (...) (22 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)
