  Re: Star Wars Only Sales

(...) Or it means that stores realize the current hot products are SW-licensed, and they are using sales to compete for buyers of those products. It's the same idea as running sales before Christmas -- get the buyers when they are ready to spend. (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.market.theory)

  Star Wars Only Sales

Well, it just goes to show ya, I never expected to SW lego on sale so soon (KMart 15% off, Ames 20% off). And that is a sale exclusive to SW lego! (For a much better price I'd move some of that other stuff for them just for the pieces.) The fact (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: brainplay.& KB

I was at a KB in a mall in Pittburgh a few weeks ago. While broswing the aisle a clerk ask I needed help, so i asked if they had Lego. She said only KB stores in strip malls and standalone shops carried Lego. Disappointed, I left the store. Was (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: 6090 Ponderings ...

(...) Doubt it, but then again, I also doubted the 6097 would go for 50% off, even though it did stink. Still, I think enough people order this one at full price that it might not make it to 50% off. Maybe 75%, which would be an ok deal. (...) Mine (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials May 24 - May 30, 1999

(...) Wow, those really stink. Luckily, I still have some of my former deals from S@H waiting to be opened, so I can just pretend I got a good deal this week. (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  6090 Ponderings ...

In the last Lego S@H catalog they didn't list 6090 - the Royal Knight's Castle. I called in and asked the lady about the number of them left - she laughed and said "Plenty." This leads me to wonder if the set will be on a special anytime soon? And (...) (25 years ago, 24-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: brainplay.& KB

(...) It's interesting, here in the Raleigh/Durham NC area, a couple months ago, I couldn't find any Lego at the KB stores. Now, with the clearance items, they all have it (they did have one good deal, which is now probably closed - they had 6444 (...) (25 years ago, 21-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: brainplay.& KB

It seems most of the posts I read about Lego being at KB have been from Eastern states. I'm in the midwest - Illinois. It's been a few years since I saw Lego at KB out here. I even went out of my way to their "outlet store" hoping for a find, but no (...) (25 years ago, 21-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: brainplay.& KB

Not all of them carry Lego though, We've got I believe 3 in the area or pretty close.. and I believe only 1 of them carries Lego as a normal item. Of course it's the one farthest south of me.. though I never much cared for their prices anyway.. Tamy (...) (25 years ago, 21-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  brainplay.& KB

  FOTW

Today before doing some work at a Police Station in a very undesirable suburb (To NZers it was Flaxmere). I checked out an ex toy shop that had become a postal agency. The only LEGO I found was a Basic Set 733 for $NZ95 ($US50). Had to buy it :) The (...) (25 years ago, 19-May-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)
