I have received one raised baseplate which was damaged by shipping. It was
packed in a lot of other stuff, but was in the corner of the box, which got
dented.
These should be packed such that they aren't in the corner of the box, and
have plenty of padding around them. I would seriously consider insurance on
a lot which contained a raised baseplate. I'm not sure if the USPS would
consider them fragile.
If you are buying, and they are insured, get damaged, and the USPS claims
they weren't packed well enough, I'd ask for a full refund from the seller
(assuming you didn't ask for the shipment to be sent in a padded mailer...).
If you are selling, make sure that you're comfortable with the packing, and
are prepared to refund the buyer if the baseplate is damaged and the
shipment is insured.
