I can't think of any reasons not to allow multiple requests for the same
box. Once these things have been travelling a while we might want to take
steps to bump new people up the request list so they don't have to wait
forever for their first box. But hopefully things will stabilize so the
number of participants and the number of boxes keeps the lists down to a
reasonable length.
How about a general agreement not to sign up more than once for a given
box? When you receive a box and your name rolls off the top naturally you
could sign back up at the bottom again. And of course if you start your
own box it's fine to have a rule forcing the box back to you as often as
you like. If people don't like your rules they're free to sign up for a
different box. (Not that it bothers me any - if I start my own box I'll
probably ask for it every 10 people or so like Chris did, at least for
the first few rotations.)

I think as a group we can come to an agreeable understanding as to more than 1 turn, I think as long as we still keep (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)
