Game Box (was: Re: New Ideas for Jambalaya - anyone interested?)

(...) OK, so I have a box of stuff set aside and some rotating rules. There are a few rules that can't change: 1) Make a fair trade that increases the value of the box. 2) When you get the box, look through it and read the current rules. Choose one (...)   Re: Jambalaya FAQ?

(...) Great work, Patricia! If you have the time, I raised some potential FAQ questions earlier, in: (URL) not sure which, if any, are really necessary, but they popped up in my noggin and probably the noggins of some others as well... :-, Cheers, - (...)   Re: Call for Box Status

Tom, I respect what you say, and don't wish to argue, but I have another data point. The very first box came to me on a Saturday, and I was able to review the contents, soul search on replacements, make the log, enclose a floppy disk, post it to the (...)   Re: General Box #4 thread (NOT the NMRA/Minneapolis box)

This box seems to have been lost in the mail, I've been talking with John who was supposed to get the box after me, and he has yet to receive it. I sent it the same time as the Minifig box and that one has already been received and sent off to the (...) (25 years ago, 26-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

  Re: Jambalaya FAQ?

I'm working on updating it...so i haven't posted it yet for this month...i try to do it once a month or so for new people on rtl and lugnet. Patricia Schempp (...) (25 years ago, 26-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

  Jambalaya FAQ?

Hi All, After several months of hiatus from the LEGO world I'm making my return... and what do I find? This nifty sounding Jambalaya thing! Unfortunately it seems there's a lot of stuff going on, but I'm not exactly catching how the whole thing (...) (25 years ago, 26-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

  Re: Call for Box Status

I simply do NOT have the time to individually log every single part taken out or put in, not with my schedule. Not if the person 15th on the list wants to see the box before 2002. Some of these boxes are already dragging along VERY slowly, enforcing (...) (25 years ago, 25-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

Re: New Ideas for Jambalaya - anyone interested?

(...) The uber-rule is something like "trade with the box trying to improve the value of the assortment." In addition to this (according to how I was thinking of it), you would have to follow the variable rules as well. If the rules are: Trade only (...)   Re: New Ideas for Jambalaya - anyone interested?

(...) Paul says: To follow the rules in strict order, you would owe just the train window. (...) I think you take out the rule you used to trade with (in this case , Rule 1) then put in a new one. Paul, who has to fly to Ireland 2 days after (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

Re: New Ideas for Jambalaya - anyone interested?

(...) No, I mean that when you receive the box, you pick one rule from the "active list", and conduct a trade based on that rule. Then you cross out that rule, and add a new rule to the end of the list. So if you picked a rule "take slopes, and (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

Re: New Ideas for Jambalaya - anyone interested?

(...) Your uber-rule negates all the other rules. So what would be the point? Or maybe I'm not getting what you're saying. Steve (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

Re: New Ideas for Jambalaya - anyone interested?

(...) I'm not sure I follow. Do you mean for any given piece that is removed from the box, you must only choose one rule that affects what you do? What about in the scenario Paul brought up later in the thread? How would that be resolved in your (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)

Re: New Ideas for Jambalaya - anyone interested?

(...) Well, that may be. It appears that there are four people interested and if we four pass it around a couple times, we might agree with you and decide to call it quits. (...) I doubt that's true. I've come up with several sets of rules for which (...) (25 years ago, 23-Sep-99, to lugnet.market.jambalaya)
