Re: Train price check —Greg Kramer
Don't know about the 4547 club car, but the 4558 Metroliner has recently sold *consistently* for $275-$315, assuming it's opened. I was in the market for one about a month-and-a-half ago, and at least five of them came up for straight sales and (...) (26 years ago, 14-Oct-98, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) It might sound cynical but It's difficult to explain the huge price variations from one auction to the next. Mark H. (26 years ago, 16-Oct-98, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Train price check —Mike Stanley
(...) I don't think it is difficult to explain. It all comes down to timing, basically. If the time when you auction it coincides to a time when more than one person with deep pocket wants it, you get more money. If you auction it at the wrong time, (...)      (...) I agree with everything you say in this post, except the above statement. I can't see you doing that, you're too cheap. :-) ++Lar ======== Posted via the LUGNET discussion group web interface ======== (URL) Search, Read, Post, or Watch Traffic (26 years ago, 17-Oct-98, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Train price check —Mike Stanley
(...) Well, thanks, I think. :) Don't mistake cheapness for willingness to spend money, though. If I found 10 4558's for $150 each I would definitely buy them. 'Course, I would probably turn around and sell 4 of them for as much as I could to try to (...) (26 years ago, 17-Oct-98, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) Ouch, now that REALLY hurts. Seriously. I'm tempted to mention that I was afraid that sounded a little off-base when I originally sent it, especially since the first thing I would do is probably write Larry and see if he could use any for cost (...)    (...) Yeh, phases of the moon. Mark H. ps. 4558 went for $150 about 6 months back thru a scandinavian (no spell checker) auction. (26 years ago, 19-Oct-98, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
