  Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

(...) Just what posts belong in .brickshops has been discussed before with no official conclusion: (URL) way I, and some others, interpret the charter of .brickshops is that it is for discusion of brickshops (*mentioned* in the charter) and not for (...)   Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

(...) I would phrase that differently: eBay announcements don't belong in .BST because there is a special .auctions group for them. By the same logic, BrickBay announcements don't belong in .BST because there is a special .brickshops group for (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

(...) Pretty much, though the logic is somewhat twisted to some minds (a "For Best Offer" sale which is worded that way not as "Sealed Bid Auction" belongs in BST). I personally would love to see a re-organization of the market hierarchy. I would (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

(...) Right. But something being a generally held view, or even something being MY view, doesn't guarantee correctness. (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

"William R Ward" <bill@wards.net> wrote in message (...) eBay announcements don't belong in .BST because they are auctions, not because they are on eBay. This point, atleast, has been cleared up by Todd many times in the past. As for their own (...) (23 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

Hmm....It seems to be the generally held view considering that the majority of such announcements are still posted in .BST. And the ones that are posted to .Brickshops seem to crossposted to .BST as well. If that is where they go, that is where I'll (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

(...) Auctions are a form of buying and selling, too. I think the idea behind the various .market groups is to try to keep the people who are focused on making money away from .BST, leaving it more open to be non commercial exchange place between (...)   Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

(...) Because eBay is auctioning, and Brickbay is buying and selling. (...) Yah, but they have different charters. :) I'm not certain what group brickbay store announcements go in, actually. I think .bst is currently more correct, but I suspect (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Bulk Lego Auctions

(...) Consistency: if people aren't permitted to make eBay announcements on BST, why should they be permitted to make BrickBay announcements? After all, both have their own .market.* groups. [snip] (...) Well, the .brickshops group is relatively (...) (23 years ago, 3-Jan-02, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
