Re: WOW ~ #1593 Classic Space ~ WOW!!!...!!!

I'll examine the box when I get it. The box was in such nice shape that it'll be very obvious if it was ever opened and re-sealed. From what the seller told me, this set has been in the window of the toy museum for a very long time. John (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: WOW ~ #1593 Classic Space ~ WOW!!!...!!!

I think I gonna have to make a Kryptonite case for this bad boy! No I don't plan on opening it. If I wanted to build it, I'd just put my 6880 and 6929 together. Besides, as soon as I open it, the value drops like crazy. (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: 1593 box photos! (was: Re: you guys noticed this auction? - Wow!)

(...) That's an interesting method of bidding - picking the maximum bid amount to be the same as the set number. Thank goodness this set wasn't numbered in the 6000's! - Bob (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.admin.database)

Re: WOW ~ #1593 Classic Space ~ WOW!!!...!!!

I know I'm insane for bidding that much, so if this is a record, its one that I'll be regretting when the credit card bill comes at the end of the month...either way, I'm sure I'll be selling off some of my extra sets to try and pay for part of (...)   Re: 1593 box photos! (was: Re: you guys noticed this auction? - Wow!)

First I have to apologize to Dave for outbidding him. I hated doing that, but with the rest of my collection nearly complete, I had to get this set. As most of us know how rare this set is, I doubt that we'll ever see another one...with that said I (...) (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.admin.database)

Re: 1593 box photos! (was: Re: you guys noticed this auction? - Wow!)

(...) John's the king...he got the sealed 6806 and 6807, too, I believe. He would have been able to get it for $1200 or so (about five bucks over my max) were it not for some no-namer who dropped a $2222 bid at the last minute. John's original bid (...)   Re: Interesting price point - what's the record for 7750?

(...) That's interesting! I have missed this set 138 auction. But now I am surprised about the reasonable price of this 118 sealed in box: (URL) it was not too much cheaper, but it is much rarer, especially this battery box with gray bottom and the (...)   Re: 1593 box photos! (was: Re: you guys noticed this auction? - Wow!)

(...) Maybe re: this set, we can goad John (who posts on LUGnet regularly) to tell us something about it once he has it in hand? That's an amazing set, one I'd surely never seen before. best LFB (24 years ago, 14-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.admin.database)
