  Re: Is MISB meaningless?

(...) Every now and then I see something described as "Better than mint", which always impresses me. 'Cause it obviously must be a prototype or something. (25 years ago, 27-Sep-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Is MISB meaningless?

(...) By definition, yes! Mint doesn't mean perfect, mint (literally) means "from the mint," which is typically perfect, but not guaranteed. "New" is safer -- it communicates this better. :) Still, as a buyer, MISB doesn't necessarily tell me what (...)   Re: Is MISB meaningless?

(...) Yeah, too bad that we can't really have a true standard.   Re: Is MISB meaningless?

I think that the term MIB (Mint in Box) was conceived first. Later, the term MISB (Mint in Sealed Box) was created because MIB was not specific enough. I don't think either term is specific to the Lego market. To me, the better question is, "How is (...)   Is MISB meaningless?

Is MISB meaningless? Surly if a Lego set is still sealed inside inside its box it must be in mint condition, and if it is not there is no way of knowing? Surly IMSB or ISB is better?
