I started writing a script this afternoon to pull down recent winning auction prices for various sets and store them in a database. This should help me calculate market value of older sets for insurance purposes, as well as helping to track trends. (...) (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Steve Waibel has started a publication called Buy The Brick. This has Lowest and Highest prices that sets have gone for on ebay as well as the Norm. (...) I'm actually more interested in an electronic form. Having to look up each set every month isn't particularly interesting to me -- I'm thinking of something more real-time, like a stock ticker (albeit a slow-moving stock ticker). :) I also (...) (...) the other thing we ran into was that it was a lot of overhead, finding out if the set was *really* complete, and making sure the auction was for *one* set only, and that it was the correct set. also, we weren't sure if we could even mine that (...) (...) Yeah, the mining issue is definitely a touchy one. If it were being done for profit I suppose that the corporations would definitely take exception. Anyone who want's broken down data from my database on set prices for a particular set feel free to email me. You can interpolate the data as you wish and see the range in prices for a given set. I will also give you my interpolation based on my (...) (24 years ago, 3-Nov-00, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

How about a dedicated page on the Lugnet Server. Some of this information could be usefull to some members/people. Lets just be careful not to create a price guide.!!!
