Jumping in--
We (NELUG) DID hold the event in a museum, but that did pose one
major issue, which was timing. The museum was open from 10AM to 5PM,
so we had to fit within the time allotted. And thanks to a lack of
general preparedness (I have to plead guilty for a chunk of that :(
) we didn't start playing until.. about 2:30PM? Given that you guys
haven't played the game before, (and you might also have more people
than us) you'll definitely want to make sure you've got the time...
I have a penciled-in reservation for the Hillard Library.  I am going
to stop there tonight and check out the room.  The only major downside
appears to be exactly what David mentions.  The library is open 10(9?)-
6.  On the upside, it looks like we can get a decent sized room with a
kitchenette attached.  We may not be able to get that room until 1:00pm
though.  However, it looks like we can get the smaller room for the
first couple of hours.  I figure that we won't be ready to start until
at least 1:00.  We can figure out the details and start putting
together scenary in the small room and just transfer when the other
opens up.  Thoughts?  The 6:00pm cutoff may not really be a problem.  I
don't think some of the people travelling down can stay much later than
that anyway.

Also, it was suggested by Eric Joslin that we might meet for future
events at a college campus building-- they're generally pretty empty
on weekends, and you might be able to schedule a good deal of
time... The only downside being a potential fee... I know Eric
mentioned a fee for room reservation that Brandeis has, but you may
be able to find a place for free (greater chance if one of you
happen to be alumni!)
I've done some looking into this.  The big drawback at OSU seems to
be that students get priority over non-students for scheduling.  I have
some other ideas that we can discuss Saturday for future options.  If
anyone doesn't object, I'll schedule the library and we'll go for it.

    Gino A...

(...) That is excellent!! Reserve the room A.S.A.P.! We need a location to have this, and that sounds *perfect*! The 6:00pm cutoff isn't a problem, as our hours are: Start: 10:00 -- 10:30 AM Finish: 6:00 -- 7:00 PM Obviously, it will be at 6 PM, (...) (25 years ago, 10-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh)

(...) I stopped at the Library this evening. The smaller room looks adequate for our current group. The room is about 10x15. There is a table which is about 3x8. It looks like it will work fine. It may be a hair cramped, but I think it will be (...) (25 years ago, 11-Apr-00, to lugnet.loc.us.oh)
