Re: My Display & MOCs -Finally Online!

(...) Thanks. The real tragedy is that a few months after I built the model, it was torn apart to rebuild my Town. Thusly, except for the memories of my high school classmates, those pics are the only evidence of how it looked... =o -Hendo (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.town, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

(...) I like the globe theater. Very nice design. It's a shame you don't have a picture of the rear, it sounds very interesting. You town layout looks great. I'm sure it gets many an ooh and ahh, when people see it. -Jason (URL) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.town, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

Re: My Display & MOCs -Finally Online!

I totally love the Bannenware tower/keep, it has the distinct look of continental European late medieval architecture. Is it modelled on a real castle? I've never really built much in that style, my castles tend to be more block like, and much wider (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.town, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

(...) Hendo, Nice castles, I'd love to see more details. The Globe Theater was great, too. And I liked the pics of the mini-fest. Thanks, George (23 years ago, 11-Oct-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.town, lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.us.ma)

Re: Best Lego Store in Western Mass?

There is a TRU in Auburn, as well as a brand new Wal-Mart in Sturbridge. Ames and K-Mart in Palmer (Although they are very old and usually bare). Walmart in Ware. Most of these are within a few miles of a 'Pike' Exit/Entrance. Dan M. (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.spr)

  Checking in from Western Mass

Hi All, Just saying hello for the first time in a while (actually the first time since I frequented rtl so many years ago)... Are there any AFOL in Western Mass out there? I'd be open to hearing from you. I wouldn't even mind an occassional (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma)

Re: Best Lego Store in Western Mass?

My 8 Cents (inflation)... As imperfect as it is, TRU seems to be the best bet in Western Mass. The TRU at the Holyoke Mall is okay. Although not as convenient for me, I visited the other area TRU and found it's selection better. I'm not exactly (...) (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.spr)

Not returning to Gordon in the fall

Hi everyone - I've talked to a couple of you in private, but now all my plans are settled. I won't be returning to Gordon College in the fall for multiple reasons. I'll be transferring to the University of Illinois at Chicago in the spring and (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma, lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.people)

  Re: AFOL's on Cape?

(...) LOL! I lived in NM for 3 years in the 80s too, you don't see me writing there, do you? :) Eastham? Is there anything in Eastham? ;) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.cap)

  AFOL's on Cape?

Is it really possible that there are no AFOLs on the Cape? Just a note - Dan and I will be on Cape from late night the 23rd - to Sept 5th - spending a couple of days in Boston - but for the most part we'll probably be in good old Harwich (my (...) (23 years ago, 3-Aug-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.cap)

Re: Call for a "Farewell Shiri" meeting

(...) Heh heh, I'm kinda guilty of the same thing. I'll have to pay attention as well. Anyways regarding wednesday night, I "think" I can make it. I have a 6:00am flight the next day and have some work to finish up before I leave. If I'm a good boy (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)

Re: Call for a "Farewell Shiri" meeting

(...) OK... but it seems Matt can't make it, which is a bummer coz I'd like to see him again :-( . (...) Alright, I'll try to bring it then. Turns out I won't be able to drive (it's really stupid - as long as I *didn't* have a license, I could drive (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)

Re: Call for a "Farewell Shiri" meeting

(...) That works fine for me too ... I can leave work about 5:00 or 5:30, and get there with a while to drool in TCS before heading over to dinner. (...) I definitely am interested in seeing some buildings. I, sadly and most pathetically, seem to be (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)

Re: Call for a "Farewell Shiri" meeting

(...) I've had them tell me, essentially, not to bother to call and ask for less than 12 people. But, then again, as far as I can tell they don't really have a codified system for who/how many people can reserve the room, who has the room reserved, (...)   Re: Call for a "Farewell Shiri" meeting

(...) A 7pm dinner works well for me, meeting beforehand at TCS... I get out of work at 6pm nowadays, so that works out pretty well... (...) I dunno how many people we "need" for the big room-- the last time I tried making a reservation in the big (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)

Re: Call for a "Farewell Shiri" meeting

(...) OK, great, good to know some people will show up. TCS and the Bison County sound fine. What time would be good? I say, leave some time for TCS, coz I gotta splurge on buying last things before I move (1). Plus I haven't been there since... (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)

Re: Call for a "Farewell Shiri" meeting

(...) If we *can* get the meeting room, the new AT-AT, of course! Othwerwise we'll have to stick to small MOCs :( (...) I think we can forgo the lashings. I'll take your AT-ST as punishment. Shiri gets dibs on your grey bricks though, I think. Or (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jul-01, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)

Re: Call for a "Farewell Shiri" meeting

(...) I can be there as well ... Let me know what, if any, MOCs I should bring :) Apologies to Shiri for not getting on this bandwagon earlier (as in, when her post to .ma.bos first showed up - I'm afraid I'm guilty of not having been watching this (...)
