As am I. I know of a few people in Chicago, but Todd told me yesterday that
there is about 30!! I wish more participated, we need a more active LUG.
I'll come up if at all remotely possible for this event. It would help a TON
if I could stay at someone's house (the floor is fine), so I can save the $$
spent on a hotel.

Well, there could be a few demos, and the wargames - Brikwars, Pirate Game
which are fun. I played the Pirate Game at Brickfest and it was a BLAST! I
can do the LDraw demo if people are interested, I'll have had a heck of a lot
more practice at it by then ;)

I met one in Chicago last fall, who has since transferred to New England, who
was not aware of the AFOL communty. Hmmm...go figure. He was nice though,
and let me splurge on K8 :D

Hopefully we can get some from Minnesota and Michigan to come, there are quite
a few from both places.

Not a bad idea. I know a lot of my friends (I just graduated high school)
find what I do interesting as well. So yes, it could work.

| (...) The figure of 30 was off the top of my head from memory, so it might not be accurate, but I just looked in my files and I see that I do know of 54 LEGO people with Illinois mailing addresses. Nine of these are in Chicago proper, so it's (...)
