We'll have a DixieLUG meeting at my place (if anyone shows up [grin]:
Where: Eric Harshbarger's house; Auburn, AL (email me for directions)
When: 24 April 2004, starting around 11am... going till 5 or 6 pm or so
Agenda: I don't care... anything. Bring stuff down to show off...
discuss plans for Brickfest 2004, etc
I don't have anything new to show off really (except a partially built
mosaic of the Fort Worth Skyline). What I REALLY what is to rummage thru
minifig parts (yes, minifig parts). I have a need for many basic
minifig items:
- waiter torsos, black arms and legs, plain expression faces.
I would like to casually trade for the pieces, and would happily rummage
for hours through folks' minifig collections if they have some they
don't really want.
Folks are welcome to look through my collection for trade possibilities
and such.
Anyway... if you are sure you will come down, please respond to this
post, so I have an idea who might show up. I'll be at my place all of
that day either way, but if no one responds definitely, then I'll not
really be expecting anyone.
Cheers,
Eric Harshbarger

Date: Saturday Janurary 10, 2004 Time: 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM Place: Jasons Home (email me for directions)
Current plans for the gathering include:
- Catching up after not having a December meeting :-)
- Another part out of a set? Vote in the the DixieLUG mailing list
- Miscellaneous brick sorting/trading. Folks are encouraged to bring any large tubs of unsorted pieces they have (we like to rummage through such things)
- Bring any MOCs you want to show off (moonbases, etc).
- DixieLUG organizational talk
- We can figure out eating plans for dinner and even shopping at the meeting. This is Atlanta and there are many decent options.
- Other suggestions welcome
BTW, Eric H has mentioned he is still on a quest for just about any
printed/decorated tiles (any size, but especially 1x2s) and trading for many
different things so bring those along for trading, selling, donating.

James,
I'll be going, but I'm going to be up in NJ the week
before. Ruth and I will be leaving later in the day
on Sunday to get back here. Doesn't look like it
matches up with your carpool plans, unfortunately...

Welcome (in advance) to Florida! :) I hope there are good reasons for
the move!
I wish I could be there to welcome you in person, but I'm a little far
away... about seven and a half hours, as Mapquest sees it! But if
you're relocating on some sort of permanent basis and you ever happen to
make it down to Disney, I'd be thrilled to see ya again and to show you
my Lego train layout in person. :)

OMG, I will actually be in the state that weekend (just jinxed myself to get
called away), I travel a lot but I should be there if there are no chanages
to my schedule!
Don't know if I'll bring anything as the current status of the Lego studio
is best described as CHAOS! Hope to see quite a few of you there!

I'm packing up hopefully ALL of my belongings on 5/21-22 here in CA, and
will arrive in Navarre, FL, somewhere between 5/25-27, depending on when I
leave and how many hours I drive a day.
Is anyone near Navarre, and if so, can you help unload? Hopefully it will
be MUCH easier than loading the truck, as I should be able to back it up to
the garage of the rental house and just carry things from the truck into
the garage and stack them there.
Any help appreciated, as it will only be me and my wife AFAIK, and most of
the boxes will be too heavy for her to lift. I will have 2 handtrucks for
rolling stuff around, if the 24' truck has a built-in ramp.
I won't be in FL permanently until late June - have to fly back here to
clean out the apt and close out that lease, and get work paperwork
straightened out (assuming I know by then whether I still have a job at Sun
or not).
If you can help, please send me your phone #, so I can get it in my trip
book, and call you when I know when we'll be unloading the truck, thanks.

Chris,
I will strongly consider coming to this meeting. I will have just
returned from the West Coast (by driving), and I have to be in Rome the
next weekend for a Scrabble tourney... but I might be able to bring a
couple of small sculptures (Penguin? Globe?) and mosaics.
No promised, though.
