news:Gv90rw.2ny@lugnet.com...
The second meeting of the North British Lego Train Club was held today • with
much consumption of tea and biscuitsn (10 attendees).

Some interesting pictures are to follow but as a brief overview:-

1. 6 modules were successfully assembled, having been built to NBLTC
specifications independently in 3 different locations.

2. A double track layout was built

3. An incline was built to test performance and standards

4. Loading guages were determined for straights, curves and platform • heights

5. Discussions on presentation, exhibitions and transport.

The NBLTC modules were specifically sized to fit into the average • British
car - watch out for the photo which shows how easily this is • accomplished....

I guess people with bigger cars (like my Honda Shuttle) could build
double-sized modules, or bigger.

As a matter of interest, how many people are willing to make these
modules?

For example a 21x8 layout for the LLW display which would require 20
modules.
And having done a track designer layout, 21x8 isn't very big - knowing
the number of models people would normally bring to a fest.

Actually, the layout at last year's TVLF was probably around this size
(if you include the table sticking out at the side)

Also, can I comment that to make the layout appealling we would need
more people bringing buildings than is usual. In past fests we have
tended to end up with far more trains and rolling stock than the layout
could accomodate, but a very sparse number of building and scenery.
