Beatties went in to receivership, partly it seems due to the parent company
losing the rights to distribute Tamiya R/C toys.
13 stores have been sold to Hilco and will remain open: Birmingham,
Liverpool, Bristol, Gateshead, Holborn, Thurrock, Bromley, Kingston,
Crawley, Romford, Reading, Ayr and Glasgow
The other 13 will close: Aberdeen, Newcastle, Banbury, Leeds, Blackpool,
Newbury, Cardiff, Nottingham, Colchester, Portsmouth, Sheffield, Stirling,
Woodley
