Well using Ripoff Britain pricing of 1 pound = 1 dollar (that's what a big
mac meal is priced at, for example), it's not too far off the mark at 80
sterling, where the US price was 88 usd. What was the UK price for 5571?
So it's not TOO bad on a US vs UK basis.
US MSRP for 5571, the last big truck, was 139 USD for 1700 pieces. 5563 is
88 USD for 787 pieces. That is somewhat (25-30% or so??) of an increase on a
per piece basis but not out of line with what increases we have seen
elsewhere across the range from TLC.
That doesn't make it so great, of course, but not as bad as it could be. Boy
what a limp explanation that is...

| (...) I think that was a pretty good explanation actually, it told me what I needed to know, that there are a reasonable number of pieces in the set, and that it is probably better than it looks. I would agree that it could still be a _little_ bit (...) (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.loc.uk)
