LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Alan Kershaw
Dear all, Was the Scotish leg of this event worth going to ?. The Sheffield one is in complete confusion - date changed to the 25th, Ottakars not existing in Sheffield (it's at something called The Mission Launch) and 18.00 - 19.00 admission by (...)         Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Richard Franks
(...) Ooops! Yes! I started writing a mini-review of it on Saturday but I had to postpone it.. I think everyone will agree that it was a successful event. The task for the day was to re-create a version of Macintosh's Rose - the one they had (...) (25 years ago, 15-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

In lugnet.loc.uk, Richard Franks writes: Just adding my 2p worth to Richard's review of the event... (...) pre-built (...) The one they built during the event was normal 1xX red bricks however... myself and Richard were amazed that it didn't (...) (25 years ago, 15-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Ian Bishop
Agree with all the preceding comments - the whole thing was most enjoyable if too short, and a good opportunity to meet fellow builders and collectors. I took a few snaps, but the film will remain in the camera until the NW fest, whereupon I'll (...) (25 years ago, 15-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Neil Ford
Would people mind if I passed on all the comments (both good and bad) to the relevent people within DK? If it can be shown that these events are popular with prehaps a wider audience than they at first imagined hopefully they will consider doing (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Richard Franks
I don't personally have a problem with that, and if you could persuade them that the amazing figures books should come with the hard-to-find pieces that they show, or have an offer to buy them... then all the better :) Oh, and is the Ultimate Lego (...)         Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Alan Kershaw
(...) Richard got to post before I did. My Five year old has just been given the two new books for people & animals, made "from bricks that you have at home". I would be interested to find out how many of these models (if any) can be completed, in (...) (25 years ago, 21-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Ian Bishop
(...) I agree entirely. Lego and DK's response to this of course would be that the pictures, parts and colours are only a guide and you should use your initiative to build from the parts you do have, missing the point by a mile as usual. When my (...) (25 years ago, 22-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Neil Ford
Apologies if the formatting on this is messed up... I'm using Netscrape at work to read news :-) I will indeed pass comments on to the relevent people. We have actually received calls here at DKFL regarding the very subject of not having the right (...) (25 years ago, 22-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: LEGO/DK event at Ottakars —Eric Kingsley
Cross posted to lugnet.general and followups set to lugnet.general. Thought you all might be interested in this. I happened to catch this using my browser. It seems some folks at DKFL are now (after going to press) looking into the 2 DK books as to (...) (25 years ago, 22-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.general)
