Just been to Busy Bee & bought a pile of bricks for tower building.
Remember: the more the merrier :-)

I've been meaning to talk to you on that one, I spoke to Paul Hutton about
buying their bulk pieces for this tower and he said the best person to talk to
would be you.

What do you get for your money?

They do reconstituted Basic 4220 boxes with just 2x4s & 2x3s, for about
GBP6. If you want the longer bricks, it's a pound more (I think).

Just counted out one box as follows:
Yellow: 2x4 = 78 : 2x3 = 47
Blue  : 2x4 = 79 : 2x3 = 35
Black : 2x4 = 48 : 2x3 = 18
Green : 2x4 = 35 : 2x3 = 15  total 355
plus a few odd bits.

This doesn't correspond very well to the original contents, so I counted
another one:
Yellow: 2x4 = 84 : 2x3 = 56
Blue  : 2x4 = 84 : 2x3 = 42
Black : 2x4 = 55 : 2x3 = 18
Green : 2x4 = 42 : 2x3 = 18  total 399

Which is far more consistent with 3x what you'd normally get in these
colours, but still some variation. So there you go. I guess it depends
on the time of night they were counted :-)  It works out at 1.50 to 1.68
pence per brick.

I don't want to have to resort to Megabloks - £8.99 for 1500 bricks I saw in
Argos - I'm tempted.. (take that as a threat :-))

That looks very favourable.

But I don't think your Megablok tower would get as tall as our LEGO one
:-)
