I had to get up at 0445 to enable an 0600 check-in and 0700 flight from
Prestwick to Stansted. Chris Dee had offered a lift from there to Jon's,
and was waiting at the airport on my arrival. We arrived at Jon's at
0935.
What followed was 14 hours of unadulterated fun. Jon and Louise were the
perfect hosts and made the event a complete success. Their hospitality
fed and watered everyone for the day, and provided beds for the night
for 5 of us who stayed over. Not content with that, they provided
breakfast and another few hours of 'fest' in the morning before the
party had to break up (well, for me anyway - everyone remaining went to
Legoland Windsor!).
So many thanks go to Jon and Louise for everything, also to Michael for
bringing all the McDonalds sets, Chris for the lift, and to everyone who
sold or traded great lego with me. Very nice to meet you all.
I reckon I had a complete rucksack full of new lego coming home. For
those of you who didn't attend, it is a great way to see / buy / trade /
sell lego that you might never otherwise be able to, and not to be
missed.
The whole weekend was totally exhausting. On the way back, I carried two
rucksacks bursting with lego, and a wooden lego toy-box, on the
underground to the British Museum and spent a couple of hours there
before making my way to Stansted and flying home. I finally crashed out
at 2100 and slept for 12 hours!
