Blimey - that was quick. Nice Pictures! I'm expecting it to be
a week or two, though, before I get my film developed and post my piccies
up.

And don't worry Carbon and Tony,
I'm sure you'll have found your way into several of my pictures.

But anyway, thanks to Jon Hayward for
organising the Southern LegoFest. I really enjoyed it - finally
attached faces to names, picked up some great Lego
bricks that I'd almost forgotten existed, saw a real Metroliner
and Club Cars for the first time and realised why people like
them so much, saw my first cellulose acetate bricks,
and had a great time seeing sets and catalogues
from the 70s.

(And of course I loved terrorising you all with my camera)

It's really starting to get a sense now that, whereas a couple of
months ago there were just a few people who hung out
on lugnet.loc.uk, now there is much more of a community
of us AFOLs in the UK. Partly due to the LegoFest, and
partly because of the large number of new people who've
arrived on lugnet.loc.uk over the last few months.

So who's hosting the next LegoFest....? I vote
for somewhere in Northern England next - I think
there's enough of us around here now.

  | (...) Just a quick post to express my thanks to Jon for hosting LEGOfest. It was great seeing some built models, and meeting people who have like interests. It was also astonishing and humbling to have the encyclopaedic knowledge of all of you (...) (26 years ago, 19-Sep-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
