Hi there, I normally only post on rec.toys.lego but I thought I would this a go. Deep breath... Go! It is uncanny how close the new 8448 is to the old 8880 in terms of length, width, height, wheel position and size, seat position, etc. Even the (...) (26 years ago, 4-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

The 8448 has a slot to insert the new technic gear motor and the instructions and the end of the 2nd book show a stand which lifts the rear wheels so that the motor can drive them and you can shift through the gears, watch the wheels change speed (...) (26 years ago, 4-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)

I got to the shop just before its 1:00pm opening yesterday. An 8' tall Bat Lord was wandering around in the mall, while a number of shop assistants were enticing the young (and not so young) with LEGO bricks imprinted with "August 1999" - not (...) (26 years ago, 3-Aug-99, to lugnet.loc.uk)
