Hallo Richard!

Anscheinend schon. Eigentlich gnaz gut so.

Man sieht sich am Samstag in Günzburg!
Leg Godt!

There’s a few words in there that I didn’t quite understand.
Would it be possible to reiterate in English?

Isn't this a great way of reminding those of us whose primary language is
English what it can be like to try to follow a newsgroup written in a language
other than one's native one!

This is what I think Ben wrote:

One must be careful about getting into discussions in a language that one
doesn't have total command of-- it can be like trying to control a dream--
complicated by the mixing up [of languages].

Anyway I thought I would test to see who was following lugnet.loc.de. [I had
major trouble trying to translate the preceding sentence-- I don't think it is
correct.]  Looks good.  Good enough, at any rate.

See you Saturday in Gunzburg!
Play well! [This is the only sentence I'm certain is correct!] :-)

To the native speakers of German in loc.de:

My apologies if I made a total mess of the translation.  It was
much harder than I expected! When you post in English you make it
look so easy that we sometimes forget that English is not your
first language.

And now that I have so rudely intruded upon a thread which was no business of
mine in the first place, I shall, with further apologies, extricate myself--

Maggie C. (who could not figure out how to type the umlaut) :-(

*Thanks so much Maggie.* Hey, I'm kinda proud of myself! I managed to interpret the overall meaning quite closely. This is what I got: Discussion in Speaking you not 100% decipher(understand) (...) I know how to both type it and use it! (cause I (...) (23 years ago, 10-May-02, to lugnet.loc.de)
