In the Scarbourgh Town Center (East on the LRT) there is an amazing "Medieval
Castle" on display by a young chap called Alex de Lint (13). He has used 99%
standard bricks, but the curves and contours that he manages to capture without
specialised pieces put many of us to shame! :)

I can't remember the exact dimensions, it's around 2x1x1.5 meters. Some points
of interest are:

* The four corner towers.
* Middle, almost Russian looking droplet-shaped center-piece.
* Minifigs with real-fabric costumes - cute!
* Internal detail with balconies, tiled floor, rooms.
* 95,000 pieces - his parents bought him 94 1000 piece boxes!

Unfortunately I didn't have a camera with me, but it really does deserve to
have pictures taken of it. Also, he hasn't used glue, and it's looking a little
bit worse for wear - there are ropes around it, but too close to stop people
touching!

You can see another one of his creations at:

Also at the Scarbourgh Center was a 6278 at ToysToysToys and three 6337's at
The Bay.

Apparently Alex de Lint, and his 5 meter minifig scale titanic was shown on Torontonian TV today. My girlfriend saw it, and I'll try and get channel information if anyone is interested! The link showing a small picture of it is still active: (URL) (...) (25 years ago, 27-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.ca.on.tor, lugnet.build)
