Hi,
I hope that Lego will copy other US mail order firms and charge the GST
upfront, so that we won't be charged the $5.00 handling fee that the post
office charges. (Or the $15 fee that the other shippers charge.) It is
interesting to hear that there is no duty on toys.
I also hope that there will be good sales later on this year in Canada. Has
anyone heard whether the whole Canadian operation will close, or only S@H?
It will be nice to have access to all the US selection, but it was nice to have
a few discontinued sets available to us for trading purposes!

Duty actually should not be a problem - I believe there is no actual _duty_ on toys, judging from my experience getting things from the US. What there IS, is GST - and the (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jun-99, to lugnet.loc.ca)
