There's no duty on toys coming into Canada. The shipping should also
still be free, if the new 2000 lego Direct brochure (see Brickshelf
scans) is correct - it says nothing about extra shipping to Canada.
Canadian S@H prices were always a pretty direct translation of US prices
into CN$ at the going exchange rate, so that isn't going to change
either.
Prices for some things (eg train track) ARE going up in the new year,
but they are increasing for US and CN alike.
The chances are that the US S@H people (especially if you call outside
regular hours and get the non-Lego answering service people) will take a
while to get used to dealing with Canadian orders and they may well
sometimes be misinformed. I'm not going to believe in duty and extra
shipping until I see it.
How did anyone who reads these newsgroups miss the fact that S@H Canada
was closing? It's been mentioned at intervals for months and months.
