Interesting. Is the base an octagon 10 studs on a side, so that four of the sides can be locked down on the baseplate? Or do you have another way of holding it in place? I had initially tried to see the moc but it hadn't been ok'ed yet. It is now available for public viewing. P. S. heh. I think you'd better talk to Dan Parker about that. Seems a Few years back PNLTC created the largest Lego train layout. Guiness was there.
