Any idea where I could get lots of random lego blocks?

I just want my kids to be able to build whatever with lego without following
someone else's plan.

So I am try to avoid kits.

Also keen to reuse someone's old lego to avoid it being thrown out or
stored/wasted.

Finally thought that it may be cheaper that buying lots of kits and mixing them
all up.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Angus

G'day,

Well, I can't speak for Sydney, but down here in Melbourne there's several
second-hand toy shops. [and yes, I am the reason that at least one of the
stores rarely has lego on the shelves :) ]

Should you wish, I'm sure there's quite a few people here who would be
willing to assist you to find old sets/parts that you may require to help
with building...
