  Re: Lego on Rove Live!

(...) Yet another who missed it...and was told at work this morning. From what little info I could get from the person at work, I've deduced it would have been Tom Lucieer, whose collection is on display at the following address: 37 Jubilee Avenue, (...)   Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) I doubt the $90,000 pricetag on the collection a case for mediawatch itself. earlier post on Tom Lucieer getaway appearance. (URL) to getaway episode has gone ! It may rise the question again I missed it to ,is there a pic of his collection (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

I saw the segment and I thought they said 90,000 piece collection. -Brad (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) Why do you doubt it? Too large? Too small? Just curious, as it didn't seem incredible (either way) to me. Kerry (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) That sounds a bit low for someone who has collected for many years? There's a least one Aussie bricklinker with more parts than that just in their bricklink shop. Kerry (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) Sounds pretty desirable to me! (And not unmanageably large either) One of everything, every year, would soon add up. Cheers Richie (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) Hi Brad... I saw it too, what I meant in my post was that, (it always seems like all I do is watch TV ;)... I wasn't watching the TV, but were sitting at the computer... but I can see the TV from where I sit. Anyway as soon as I saw/heard it (...)   Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) I saw this Lego collection in 1997 and looked like there was a lot more than 90,000 pieces. There is a big 12v and 9v train layout in the middle of the shed with shelfs along the walls with sets from every theme. (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

Insert video tape, fast fwd, fast fwd, fast fwd.... Corin Grant : 'there's like 90,000 pieces in there.' I watched the whole thing again and no mention of value and given the way Corin said 90,000, I think it was a guess or something she was told (...)   Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) Well, not wishing to cause this debate to push our postings TOO high...I did not see/hear anything on the article, except that it was a big collection...the information I posted was on a pamphlete advertising the collection, which said (...)   Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

not using the Internet ,his choice of lego dealer would have been limited, and bulk parts ,or supplementary kits even harder to find (Sydney depot, second hand!),for at least until the 80s (was lego not so popular b4 this?) If he had bought one box of (...) (22 years ago, 28-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.mediawatch)

One of the Largest Lego Collections in Australia ;)

(...) Well it won't be a debate if we don't let it and take everyone the wrong way and take things to the extreme :) So no worries there :) Lets just say it is a big collection, there are people out there with bigger, but he still has a large (...)   Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) I can't speak for Steak-n-Kidney but Lego was readily obtainable in Brisbane in the 1960s, and back in the those days most sets were just "bulk parts"; very few sets had a model with instructions as I recall. Indeed, I remember how thrilled I (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.mediawatch)

Re: Largest Lego Collection in Australia ?

(...) There was *a lot* of LEGO available in the 70's, and, IIRC it was all available in Australia, except for one or two train sets. (...) Agreed. And when trains are involved, multiple sets seem to become almost compulsory. (...) Hmmmm... my (...) (22 years ago, 30-Jun-02, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.mediawatch)
