Hi,
The very best way is to find someone who can charge direct to your
credit card. No costs at all, just the purchase price.
The second best way is to have a friend who runs a store in the US. They
can send paypal, money order, etc. for next to nothing, then just charge
it to your credit card.
The beauty of the cards is that if someone has access to a store EFTPOS
machine, and wants to pay you, they can just do a 'refund' on the card.
Easier even than a direct bank deposit.

I've found Westpac to be excellent. They charge an excellent exchange
rate, pretty much at the market rate. I've been amazed when the aussie
dollar has been at 0.51, and I'll actually still get better than a 0.50
exchange rate. Plus, they have a policy (probably not limited to
Westpac) that if you get ripped off at all using the card on the net,
they'll give a complete refund, even for a legitimate transaction in
which the product gets lost in the post.
</plug>
later,
David Drew

| This is a whinge. Feel free to ignore, or offer very constructive help. I know a lot of this is my own fault for not checking things out... Some parts I need. Log on to brickbay. Cool, there they are. Hm, minimum order $10.00, well OK. Add postage (...) (23 years ago, 18-Apr-02, to lugnet.loc.au)
