We all had good intentions of playing Brik Wars. Ben had brought troops and
was well prepared. I thought I'd be ready but failed on account of having
just returned from a trip to Perth and spending all morning clearing the
meeting room of half made up sets from the last meeting (I'd been sorting
Lego almost constantly since the last meeting..)

Are you and Ben fielding a Fabuland contingent in BrikWars ?

And then the trading begun......

Ben and I usually leave this till last after choosing desired sets early in
the piece, but this time we started early. Furious trading went on for some
time and ended up dominating the meeting. Martin had a interesting
collection he'd acquired for a VERY decent price, Ross took US orders and
George was educated about the phrase "you can never have enough Fabuland" -
which was promptly followed by "you can never have enough mini-figs" and
"You can never have enough baseplates - especially moon ones".

Someone should think up the ten commandments of Lego collecting.

Phase 0.5 (not quite 1 yet) of my Rock Festival was displayed. The main
stage is nearly complete - just a few technical hitches with the colour of
the plates.  And we finally found a use for those chains! The need for
"food" sets was reinforced with strong demands for the Rock Festival to have
a Cafe, Burger Bar, Pizza Bar, Wine Bar and Ice Cream parlor. The booked
acts for the Festival include (to date) The Village People, Generic Boy Band
and, possibly, Michael Jackson (Bubbles was spotted running amuck in the
wings).

Has Michael taken the glove off, preparing for the Jackson fives return ?

Do you think your stage could cope with my Belville scale girl band, the Evil
Belles ?

In all, not a bad gathering. We're all looking forward to another just
before the June mega-meeting so we can actually play some Brik Wars....

Briktorians, be very afraid !

An accurate and true report George! The most recent Viclego gathering was a quiet affair with numbers reduced by the almost non-stop torrential rain. In attendence were the usual crowd of myself (Sue Ann), Ben, Martin and Ross. Paul was declared (...) (24 years ago, 25-Apr-01, to lugnet.loc.au)
