That's the beauty of these sorts of gatherings - to discuss out experiences
and share ideas. It's easy to be intimidated by some of the creations shown on
LUGNET (both size of collection and creativity), but it all adds to the
experience, and I am not ashamed to admit I have copied some of the designs
shown, and I don't think the original creators would mind, either. That's why
I'm also happy about paying for LUGNET membership, as my short time on LUGNET
has rekindled my love for LEGO and helped me to partly recapture my Dark Ages.
A financial contribution is a small way of saying "Thanks" to Todd, Suz, and
the other people on LUGNET who have greatly enriched my LEGO life.

No-one lacks creativity, just the motivations to express it. That's not to say
that people who don't display creativity are lazy, just that their creativity
needs to be stimulated into action. This can be from seeing something really
cool that you'd like to build, a dream, vision (not the spiritual kind), or
talking to other people and millions of other ways to stimulate it. That's why
I'm keen for this meeting to happen - to talk to all you guys and share our
experience and ideas.

And being a civil engineer, I think we have a slightly unfair advantage over
some of the other AFOL's (but not much - they're a pretty creative bunch ;) in
that we get to see and play with a whole range of weird and wonderful toys.
Take your camera with you when you go on site, as we have some pretty fancy
looking rail service plant around. How about making your own Tangara or XPT?
Ahhhhhh...the creative juices are already flowing this end of the WWW!!
