  Denver NDK Display

Here is the update on NDK. I have good news and bad news; I'll hit the bad news first. Currently we are slated for a display on Friday, October 6th only. We got squeezed down to one day because of convention space constraints. Set up can begin as (...)   Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

Yet another article discussing Legoland KC today. "One day after Olathe officials rejected a proposed deal to build Legoland and other attractions in the north part of the city, both the city and developers said they were willing to continue (...) (...) Everything the City Council is asking for seems quite reasonable. If Legoland can't make it work, then maybe it just wasn't meant to be there. (18 years ago, 17-Aug-06, to lugnet.loc.us.ks, lugnet.loc.us.mo, lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.legoland)

Re: Train layout ideas for future Ontario/Canada train shows

(...) Wow Dave, the pictures of your module under construction look great, and I can't wait to see it completed some day. Play well. Tim Strutt (18 years ago, 17-Aug-06, to lugnet.loc.ca.on, FTX)

Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

What about the other amusement parks in the kansas city area? both past and present? Like Jeepers, Fairyland, and Worlds Of Fun.? Why does anyone think having Legoland on the door would make it work? What about Worlds of fun? (18 years ago, 17-Aug-06, to lugnet.loc.us.ks, lugnet.loc.us.mo, lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.legoland)

Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

City council results: NO, but fix the plan and come back. From the article: Among the problems: The proposal does not include a guaranteed revenue stream to pay for $64.3 million in bonds developers want the city to issue; public participation would (...)   Re: Birmingham Lego shop closing

(...) I would tend to agree with you there. The only really great thing was the PAB, and that could be better served from the web, with a minimum order, and being able to order at least basic bricks by volume or selection. This is not the same as (...) (18 years ago, 16-Aug-06, to lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

(...) I agree with you, but as long as Legoland is not owned by Lego, it is an amusement park like any other, and developers are going to use it as the draw for retail, hotels, other tourism, etc. and since it will increace the tax base enormously, (...)   Re: Newswatch: Fifth Legoland Park in Kansas City area in 2009

My whole take on this is that it is NOT Lego driven, but developer driven. If it goes thru, then the taxpayers of Kansas will be paying for this. But if it fails in the end, it could affect the reputation of Lego... the product. I am leary about (...)   Birmingham Lego shop closing

The Birmingham Lego shop is sadly closing down. 3/4 of the shelves are empty. Everything is 50% off or more, except for pab which is full price (I asked the staff). They had some Ferrari sets and lots of medieval stuff left and some small bags of (...) (18 years ago, 16-Aug-06, to lugnet.loc.uk)
