Well, as planned, we went to Legoland Windsor on Saturday, March 11,
it's official first day of the new season.

We arrived shortly before 1pm which means we missed the Royal visit
(Charles, Wills, Harry, Andrew, Beatrice and Euganie (sp?)), no great
loss as I understand it was a bit manic.

As it happens the park was quite busy (maybe thanks to the Royals),
queues at most  of thr eating places were quite long.  The Crossed Ribs
barbeque has changed, no longer having the grill in the middle but now
behind the tills like everywhere else. The burgers didn't seem as good
either but that could just have been the first day rush.

No much of the new stuff is open yet.  The Dome is isn't in place, it's
currently just a bare bit of ground.  A missed opportunity was not
having some Lego diggers making it look like a real building site, that
would have been cool.  From talking to one of the staff I understand
it's due to go in within a week or two.

The new airport isn't started yet.  We were lead to believe that it's
actually going to be built in-situ with an opportunity to watch the
model makers at work. If that is true that will be cool.

None of the new major attractions are ready to go either.  It looks like
Wave Riders will be done first (as part of an Adventurers section, with
new eatery) with the Creative Centre and Lego Racers opening in the
summer.

The shop seemed to have all of the new sets in, prices were okay, though
not possibly the lowest (the train set they have for £109, I've seen it
at £99 in most places).

One point of interest, visitors to the park are now being offered free
membership to the Lego World Club, all you have to do is send off your
used tickets along with a form you can get from Guest Services.  Not
sure how that works for us Season Ticket holders, I have a number to
call to check.

Overall, we had a good time (as always).  I'm grateful we have Season
Tickets, I can see us popping back a few times throughout the coming
months :-)

Neil.
