As posted previously, Legoland California has a hand assembled set available
during the Breakfast with Mrs. Claus. It is a model of a gift box
approximately 6x6x6 in size and cost $5. It comes with approximately 109
pieces, printed instructions, and packaged in a printed paper gift box.
The model consists of the bottom box and a lid. Working from memory, the
bottom is made of 6*2x6 red plated, 8*2x2 red corner bricks, 16 1x1 red technic
brick, 16 1/2 technic peg with stud, 6*1x6 red plates, 6*1x4 red plates, 8*1x4
yellow tiles, 4*1x2 yellow tiles, 4*1x2 red tiles, 4*1x1 red tiles.
The lid consists of 2*2x4 red plates 2*2x6 yellow plates, 4*2x2 yellow plates,
8*2x2 red plates, 4*1x1 yellow bricks, 8 1x2 yellow corner round
(macaroni) bricks, 1 2x2 round yellow brick, 1 2x2 round yellow plate, and 1
1x1 round yellow plate.
The rarest part are the eight yellow macaroni bricks which was available in a
old dacta 9453 universal topic set amoung others. They form a bow pattern on
top of the lid. The model could have used fewer pieces like 6x6 plates and 1x2
technic brick with two holes.
The model is a nice cute box and worth the $5 since it has over a hundred
pieces is a much better buy then the 3 tree ornaments (tree, stocking,
snowman). The build-a-ornament now has few special pieces left, mainly the
pink 1x2, 1x3 plates and inverted 1x3 green slopes, the rest of the pieces are
more common bricks. New parts are added frequently so one never knows what may
show up.
I will post the instructions scan on brickshelf in the next day or so.
