  A letter to Todd

Todd, Let me start off by saying I respect all the work and effort you have put into creating this site, it truly is a great site, and I DO love your site! I have from the first time I came here, nothing will change that. And I know this is your (...) (24 years ago, 17-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

how about turning the bulk listing at lego more like a brickbay store? assumeing the manufactureing machines/wharehouse storage can handle you could by things one peice or 50 peices at a time, in the color you want you could buy all the peices for (...) (...) I'd recommend lugnet.lego.shop.announce (or just lugnet.lego.shop - though that might invite discussion about LEGO shopping avenues. Hmm, I just had an idea. Set one or more lugnet.lego.xyz.announce groups, which only TLC can post to. Then (...) (24 years ago, 17-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: ???Where did the HORSES go???

Thanks for all the info on where to acquire cheep sets that contain Horses. And yes, I am a member of Lego Shop @ Home. Nevertheless, this simply won’t do! My army is well over 800+ troops, and I need about 45 black horse, 20 white horses, and 15 (...) (24 years ago, 26-Mar-01, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.western, lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.town)

Some thoughts from a loyal but non-member Lugnet participant: I believe I understand where Todd is coming from here, and I think that generally, the idea makes sense. Corporate involvement DOES dilute a true fan-based newsgroup. For an extreme (...) (24 years ago, 18-Mar-01, to lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.lego.direct)

Hmmm you forget Technic.. But the only technic sets currently out that arent huge are crap :) And doing it for huge sets isnt a good idea, thats the point, you use mid range to small sets, to get good sales :) (...) whatever (...)   Re: What Kids really want. Not Juniorization.

(...) Oh, they do still. But you have to go to a specialty store for them. Examples are the Velux house, all the 2000 Shell sets and probably some others that escape me right now. The problem is not that kids want something easier to build, but what (...) (24 years ago, 31-Mar-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

If TLC is reissuing old sets those selling old sets not be too happy (EI held onto a guarded in to sell it on ebay for mucho $, And then TLC rereleases it in 2001[1]) I will be happy cause hopefully I can get some old sets again. but a little (...)   No wonder they were quiet when I made a suggestion.

Some time during 2000 I mentioned that it would be a nice idea if TLC/TLG did a couple of Dinosuar skeletons (sort of lego fossils.). I did not expect the idea to be taken too seriously .... (...) I don't know if anyone else has seen the two new Mega Blok Pro Series sets, but the Harely-Davidson looked incredible! 1300 or 1400 pieces, all basic bricks except for a handful of specialty/accent pieces. $40. Expensive for a Ritvik set, but (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Re: TLC/TLG about to supress fan created films?

A company cannot control what you do with a product after you've bought it. Once you own the product, it's yours to do with as you please. They especially have no say in this as they've marketed sets for the creation of these types of things. They (...) (24 years ago, 26-Mar-01, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) Guess I'm weird that way; I'm almost insulted when I get a Town Junior set that's pre-seperated for me (but oh well, not like I can't just dump it all out) yet when I get a larger set I'd like some sort of sorting.
