  bulk should mean more than 10
 
Dear Lego Direct, Please increase the quantities and decrease the prices on some of your bulk items. For example: item 3448 - 10 windows - $8.99 item 3449 - 5 doors - $9.99 This isn't really bulk. And it is expensive. Better would be: item 3448b - (...) (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) The problem is that there is an overhead cost that is probably very close to the same whether the pack has 10 or 100 windows. I'm guessing that this overhead cost is a large proportion of the $4.99 that 10 windows cost, and that TLC could sell (...) (24 years ago, 1-Sep-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) Yes, but overhead is just the problem. Since few people need 50 windows, they wouldn't sell many sets, and the overhead of creating and advertising the package would be divided among fewer sets.
