Thanks for checking this out, Adrian. I'm not surprised by the response
considering there would probably be some expense in moving the stock around
across regions.
Does anyone reading this thread know of any precedent for a set being
available for such a short period of time? I believe 8431 hit S@H some time
in September and was discontinued by the end of December -- maybe 3 1/2
months total. I saw nothing in the catalogs or web site that said this
would be a limited time re-issue, and 8430 is still available and in the Jan
catalog. Are there any examples of something similar in the past, or do you
think something unexpected happened, like a mold broke for one of the
Technic parts particular to this set?
I assume this set is discontinued in other countries as well and the stock
there will soon run out, too. Has there been a European or Australian S@H
Jan catalog, and if so is this set in it? I find it hard to believe they
would just discontinue it for the US, but who knows.
