Thank you, Jake.
I just wanted to confirm my suspicion.[1]

Such a lack of maturity from one who's actions reflect on The LEGO Company
is very disappointing. But, your 'using' of this community is inexcusable.

[1] Since our last phone conversation a few months ago, in which Jake again
asked for sitewide posting and I answered in the negative, he has been
giving this entire community the 'silent treatment' in hopes to 'get his way.'

Er...I tend to usually avoid these type of posts, and the debate column
because I am usually outspoken, but I have to get a say here, and of course,
I have a few questions.

In the last few months, I have noticed a sense of dissent or a wave of
tensions riding on lugnet steadily, for no reason I can exactly see, and
it seems to only be getting worse. More debates are flaring on, some members
have already left in troves (remember the Bionicle community?) and a
majority of my confidence in the site has been diminished looking at such
actions.

I know as well that I may have been part of the problem, getting myself into
arguments I shouldn't have spoken on, but I've generally strayed from using
such words that would offend others, and tend to think about what others
would say before I go off posting. I know you may have been riled by tensions
yourself, but there's no excuse for vulgarity. Jake was only trying to clear
out the situation (he has deadlines too, you know). Even though it was an
honest reply to your call, I think a more reasonable approach could have
been taken on this matter.

That being said, I'm not an AFOL like the majotiry of Lugnet, but I know
when not to overstep my boundries, and how to properly work out replies, or
solve disputes, but what really confuses me, is that a person much older and
more "mature" than myself would go off without provoke, and blast Jake for
his response. Is it just me, or is it that the Non-AFOLS out there can act
better than an adult moderator who is supposed to serve as a "role model"
for the "friendliest place on the web"?

Don't get me wrong here, I'm not another member flaming off my opinion to
get others to stand by my side, I'm just saying what I feel needs to be
said here.

I'm proud of my lugnet membership, and I really want to see this site prosper
(this was the beginning of the end for my dark ages), so If Lugnet would to
(gasp) slip into its demise, where would other lego fans turn? I think this
could become a turning point in Lugnet history. There's two ways to go now,
to prosper or to fall. And believe me, we all get a lot of worth out of Lugnet.

Who isn't an AFOL, but it really doesn't matter in the long run.
