The Jelly Belly factory in our area puts their malformed jelly beans in 1 lb.
bags and sells them as "Belly Flops" in their factory store-- for about half
price! They taste just as good only you can't choose the flavors-- so all the
bags available at a particular time may be half full of watermelon flavored
beans, say.
An idea would be if we could purchase the swirly bricks in bulk at places like
Legoland by the quarter lb. the way we can with some other featured elts. The
only reason I can see for them not to do this is that they don't want to have
irregular LEGO in circulation because it wouldn't help their reputation--
somewhere down the line the pieces may fall into the hands of someone who
thought they came in a set off the shelf that way.
